Self Battery Test
Mar 23, 2020
I was fascinated recently to be told there is a way of testing your hearing aid battery charge without a battery tester. To be fair it does not give you a percentage figure like you are used to but it helps you sort out the good ones from the bad ones.
So, it goes like this. If you have a suspect flat battery, you can drop it onto a hard surface from about 10 cm height. If the hearing aid battery bounces then it is depleted of its charge. Conversely, if you drop a hearing battery that has a full charge it will not bounce.
Take care doing this self test so you don’t end up having to search for batteries on the floor!
